Using WhatsApp Without Saving a Number to Your Contacts in a Few Simple Steps

Through this article, I intend to showcase ways to use WhatsApp messages without saving someone’s information to your Android, iPhone, or PC.

How to Send Message on Whatsapp without saving number

Hello everyone! It is your good friend Frankie here once again to give you new information about the messaging applications you use every day. Today, you get a look at a new WhatsApp magic trick that not a lot of people know about yet.

Have you wanted to contact someone on WhatsApp, have their number, but for some reason have difficulty adding them to your contact list?

Maybe you just don’t want the clutter in your address book. The famous instant messaging application won’t recognize your new chat plan without these steps though, right?

Worry not. There is still a method you can use to text people through the WhatsApp service to recipients that you have not yet added to your official contact list.

I can tell you how to do this is in just a few simple steps.

You read that correctly!

If you want to learn how you can send messages through WhatsApp to numbers that you never saved to your phone, you only need to give me a few moments of your time. I am going to lay out the simple directions to follow to achieve this.

Now, there are third-party applications and hacking tricks that can likely bring you around to the same ultimate conclusion, but these are not always the safest route for your device or your account. This feature I am going to explain is developed by WhatsApp to use across all platforms you use the service on and have the application installed.

Once you have the information you need, you can send these messages in a matter of seconds to the desired recipients. I have nothing else to offer at this point but well wishes as you read through the guide that I have put together below.

Let’s get started.

Before Sending a Message on WhatsApp to an Unsaved Contact, Here is What You Need to Know

Before delving too deeply into the process and its individual parts for sending messages on WhatsApp to numbers you do not have in your contacts list, I think it would benefit you to understand what actually happens here. What you can expect from the procedure, essentially.

You should understand that there are no routes for messaging on WhatsApp that are as simple as adding someone (even if they are unknown) to your contact list and then reaching out through the application.

Once you have done this, you are just tapping on the appropriate icon to begin a new chat through the service. Selecting the name of who you just added, you can start an original thread. Once this happens, you can continue having conversations in this manner and even gather information to update the contact information appropriately should you want to.

By following the classic method of adding information and beginning a chat conversation conventionally, you know who you are contacting and no longer have to remember the number every time that it appears in a particular chat.

New to using a smartphone?

Then you might not know how easy it actually is to update contact information on your device and add new contacts to your WhatsApp list, but the guide I put together on the subject should help.

If you are like most individuals who are well-versed in their own phones, but you just don’t want to save a contact to your phone or have a reason that this process isn’t working for you, than you can follow the guide below for the workaround of this requirement.

Frankie’s Take:

Remember, you might be able to forego saving a contact’s information to send them a message through WhatsApp, but they might know about revealing tricks to determine if their number was added to your contacts.

Sending Messaging to Numbers You Have Not Saved on Your Android Phone

Using WhatsApp for Android allows you to seamlessly send messages to numbers you have not saved to your contacts through the use of your installed web browser and inputting a specific URL address.

Here are the steps that you need to take:
  1. Open the browser that you use (often Chrome or Firefox on Android devices) and click on the address bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Once you have cleared the box of the generic word content, you can begin inputting a specific URL. Write https://wa.me/ and follow it with the number you wish to contact preceded by its country code. If you were reaching out to a US number, for example, you would take the number (220-000-0000) preceded by the country code (1) and end up with a full URL that reads https://wa.me/12200000000. Then you press enter on the virtual keyboard to navigate.
  3. Last, press the “Continue to Chat” item on the page that appears on the screen and accept the pop up to open the WhatsApp application on your phone. A new thread with this number gets generated automatically in WhatsApp after this.

Once you are back in the app that you are familiar with, you can compose messages in the same way that you always do. Once you have the message written, you can transmit with the Send icon. After this, you will have a chat in your thread list labeled unknown. You do not have to repeat the process of going through the website each time.

If for any reason this process fails or the message does not appear in your list of WhatsApp conversation, you should attempt first to reset the application’s associations.

If you want to try this, you just have to get to the main settings menu for your phone. Select Apps/App Manager and press on the item you have set to open links by default.

Once you have done this, you should see something labeled “Start by Default” or a similar text. Select an option to delete the defaults, and the message should appear once again.

I cannot be any more precise with my instructions for this process, however, as there are hundreds of types of Android phones and developers that lay menus and devices out differently.

Sending WhatsApp Messages to Contacts Not Saved on Your iPhone

You can also use your iPhone to achieve the same results. You have to access Safari or whatever web browser used on your phones.

Please follow these steps:
  1. Tap on the browser icon on your homescreen to open the application. Once open, select the address bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Now press Go, and then choose to “Open” the link requesting access to WhatsApp and that is all.

Once the thread opens up in the application, you can write your message as you normally would. Press the enter key in the bottom right corner to send your message.

After you have sent the message, you can access this same conversation whenever you would like through the chat tab of the WhatsApp application when open. You do not have to access through the website again.

Sending WhatsApp Messages to a Number Not Saved on Your PC or Mac

An important distinction is that you cannot use the WhatsApp client for Windows and macOS to send messages to an unsaved contact. You can, however, exploit this workaround through the official WhatsApp website.

To do this, follow these few steps:
  1. Open the browser on your desktop and click to access the address bar at the top.
  3. After you do this, click on the message option from the page that opens up. If you have already established your information and account on WhatsApp Web, the chat with this number will automatically generate for you on the screen.

If you have not taken the time to connect your information to the WhatsApp Web service, it is very easy to do. Go to the WhatsApp settings on your smartphone, select the WhatsApp Web icon, and then point your camera at the QR code shown on the screen of your PC to continue.

If you need more information, I have a guide written on using WhatsApp on a PC.

Conclusion

You should now be more informed than ever about this process, but before we say goodbyes, let’s recap what we discussed.

In this guide I showed you some of the methods of sending WhatsApp chat messages without saving contact information to your device. This process was explained for Android, iPhone, and WhatsApp on your PC.

We have seen how in each of these situations you begin a string of information after the inputted URL https://wa.me/. This is then followed by both the country code and the number of the contact you wish to converse with.

You should also know that you can use this same tricks to place calls to numbers through WhatsApp that you do not intend to add to your contact list.

All you have to do instead is to choose the phone icon after opening up the chat window through the steps that you have seen above.

That is all that I have for you at this time, but if you have any questions or concerns, you can leave me a comment below and I will be sure to get back with you as soon as I can.

Talk again soon!
