Preventing Being Caught Cheating with WhatsApp

Have you started an affair and now you are exclusively keeping in touch with that lover through WhatsApp? Are you wondering how you can effectively cheat using WhatsApp? I have put together 10 tips that can help you through the extramarital relationship without getting caught or losing your cool.

Preventing Being Caught Cheating with WhatsApp

Hi friends, it’s Frankie. I wanted to take a minute to discuss your dirty little secret: the affair.

If you have found your way to my article here, you are very likely cheating on your partner, am I right?

Hey, I’m not judging you. I don’t want to tell you that you are wrong and you should think about other people – I don’t have the patience for being a voice of good sense and reason.

Just let me tell you this…

If you are in a relationship and meet someone else, it would be decent of you to end the current relationship before things get too serious and someone gets hurt.

If you are not looking to end either relationship, then you need to take some precautions to keep your significant other from learning this secret.

Just know that if you are using the traditional SMS approach on your cellphone to communicate with the lover, you stand an excellent chance of getting caught.

You do realize that, right?

It does not take long for a partner to turn suspicions about your misdeeds into actual evidence. The first step in this is usually monitoring your WhatsApp activity, and you should know right now that it is not as complicated to do as you might think.

It does not take a tech wizard to spy on your phone and WhatsApp activities, even remotely.

10 Tips for Using WhatsApp for Your Affair and Not Getting Caught

Here in this article, I can show you 10 tips that can help you to become a virtual cheating Ninja. Get someplace comfortable, open up WhatsApp, and let’s get started.

1. “Fake Name” – Save Lover’s Number with a Different Name

“Ok” you might say, “I already know that”.

Most people might save the name as a fake version, but fail to see the glaring concerns with what they choose:

  • If you are a female, your fake name should also be female.
  • Males should use fake male names for their lovers.

For even more credibility, you should make up a backstory concerning why you are speaking to one another.

In these cases, it is often better to utilize ‘working relationships’ as this is something that your partner might not fully know about anyway and it can help to explain why you are receiving messages at strange times of the day.

Frankie’s Take:

It is important to choose a fairly common and easy to remember name. It is also very critical to remember EVERYTHING you tell your partner about this person. If you start mixing up the facts and details, you could rouse the suspicions of your partner and wind up getting caught.

2. “Hide Preview” – Hide Message Preview Text on Your Device

So, imagine this: you are out to dinner with your significant other and your mobile phone lights up on the table with a previewed message detailing your lover’s wishes for sex. It is visible to everyone at the table.

I am getting uncomfortable just thinking about it.

Unless you are someone that can sell ice to an eskimo, this is one situation that you are not going to get away with.

You can avoid these unfortunate circumstances, however, by hiding message previews in the WhatsApp application. It is very easy to do.

With an Android:
  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. Go to Settings > Notifications
  3. Disable the Show Preview option
With an iPhone:
  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. Settings > Notifications
  3. Near the Show Preview option, set the toggle to OFF.

Frankie’s Take:

Note that this option will hide all incoming WhatsApp messages from getting previewed. It might seem drastic initially, but trust me you would rather be safe than sorry in this regard. If your partner gets inquisitive about it, you can say you read on a website that previews increase battery consumption.

3. “SHHHH” – Muting Notifications for the Lover’s Chat

An additional safety measure is muting the specific chat for the affair.

While it is true that hiding the message previews can reduce the likelihood of unexplainable, awkward situations, muting the lover’s chat is an added level to that protection. You can remove any sound alert of the incoming message.

Frankie’s Take:

You should proceed with caution here, though. The number of incoming messages appears on the WhatsApp icon on the homepage, so I suggest you open and close the app to clear out these stacking notifications.

4. “Ghost Mode” – Hide ‘Last Seen’ Status on WhatsApp

You should not be surprised to learn that the ‘last seen’ status on WhatsApp has become a hotly contested piece of information. Now you are hearing “You were online a few minutes ago but couldn’t answer a text I sent earlier today – who were you chatting with?

Now, you are backpedaling trying to defend your good name when in truth you were laughing and joking with your lover in the chat.

It is not complicated to avoid such problems, which inevitably leads to a suspicious partner. I would suggest that you hide the Last Seen time altogetherhere is how you do that.

With an Android:
  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy
  3. Tap Last Seen > Nobody
With an iPhone:
  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy
  3. Click on Last Seen > Nobody

Now I’m going to stop you right there…

I want to share with you a grateful content: how to be invisible on WhatsApp. Check it out!

Frankie-Caruso

Frankie’s Take:

Undoubtedly removing the Last Seen status is going to raise a red flag with your significant other. The best explanation you can give is that you do not want your boss to notice when you access WhatsApp at work – it works like a charm.

5. “Armageddon” – Religiously Delete WhatsApp Messages

As someone in an affair, you need to leave sentiment at the door. You cannot store messages of your secret tryst on your phone – delete everything!

Check out my article on: How to delete messages in Whatsapp.

Anything stored in your phone is a time bomb waiting for the right opportunity to blow up when it is in the hands of your significant other.

Frankie-Caruso

Frankie’s Take:

There is no situation where deleting all of the evidence is not in your best interest. If you really need to save messages from your affair, I suggest a safe location. You can create an email address (one that ONLY YOU know about) and save it there. You can read it any time, and no one will ever be able to find it.

6. “No Auto Saving” – Disable Automatic Media Saving on WhatsApp

If you receive photos and videos inside of chats on WhatsApp, even if you delete them from the conversation, they can still get stored directly to your smartphone.

You should always look to meticulously check folders in your Android phone or the camera roll on the iPhone. Compromising photos and videos could be there for anyone picking up your phone to see.

To avoid having to hunt down these unsavory media files constantly, you need to go into the settings menu and disable automatic saving of media in the WhatsApp program.

With an Android:
  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. More Options > Settings > Chat
  3. Uncheck Media Visibility
With an iPhone:
  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. Go to Settings > Chat
  3. Set Save to Camera Roll to OFF

Frankie’s Take:

Much like I said in tip #5, it is vital to keep your phone as evidence-free as possible. If you want to keep some photos, you can send them to the secret email address that you created in the last tip and store everything over there.

7. “Clean my W-App” – Clean WhatsApp data traffic

I would say that in some regards, WhatsApp can be worse than a private investigator with all of the information and data it collects.

The app records every operation, and there is a singular section devoted exclusively to data traffic. In here, all of your activity is visible.

In order to access this area, you need to click on Settings > Storage and Data > Manage Storage.

Here you can see the contacts you chat with the most, calculated directly on the data exchange. The top of this list are those that you exchange the most messages, files, and media.

To cover your activities, it is wise to head to this location and remove this stored data about your behavior by choosing the Free Up Space option.

Frankie-Caruso

Frankie’s Take:

By doing this, you are not just saving your own ass from a tech-savvy spouse or significant other reading data collection, but you are also freeing up some memory on your device.

8. “Phantom Call” – Erase All Call and Video Call Records on WhatsApp

If you use WhatsApp for calling (or video calling) you can benefit from covering your tracks by removing any evidence of it.

You can always delete a call log right after you make it as storage settings allow you to remove it immediately. There are no default settings to prevent this.

All you need to do is:

  • on iPhone: open WhatsApp > Calls > swipe left on the specific call that you want to clear from your iPhone and then tap on the Delete button that appears.
  • on Android: onere WhatsApp > tap on the Calls tab located in the top menu > tap and hold on the call that you want to delete and then click on the trash icon that appears in the top menu.

I have a great piece of advice to give you… If you need to get in touch with your lover do not use WhatsApp, rather other apps to make free calls and video calls. The best – and the most secure – are listed in this guide that I have prepared for you.

Frankie-Caruso

Frankie’s Take:

WhatsApp calls are a great way for you to stay in touch with your affair. In fact, removing these entries as they happen prevent a record of anyone steadily calling your device besides your significant other. This does not require explanations or lies.

9. “Logout” – Make Sure You Logout of WhatsApp Web

If you regularly use the computer, then it stands to reason that you use WhatsApp Web. This software allows you to connect WhatsApp on your phone to the PC – allowing you to chat on the computer instead.

If you forget to logout of this service on your computer, it is easy for your partner to gain access to your WhatsApp account – even follow along with a private chat you are having in real time away from the house.

What a nightmare that would be!

Preventing this is fortunately simple. When you are done, you only need to tap Logout from All Computers in the WhatsApp Web menu. This disconnects all devices other than your primary smartphone for WhatsApp, making it necessary to scan the QR Code again when you want to reconnect to this secondary service.

You would be surprised to learn how many relationships and marriages have ended because someone left WhatsApp Web logged in and accessible.

Frankie-Caruso

Frankie’s Take:

For as handy as WhatsApp Web is, it is also INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. Try to use it as little as possible – especially on any PC or tablet at your house.

10. “Fake Location” – Give Your Partner A Different Location Than Where You Are

This might not be something you know about – and I am always looking to surprise you! Did you know that you can share a fake location with your contacts on WhatsApp? Namely, a location to cover where you actually are.

As someone in a extramarital affair, you might find multiple applications for this function.

It is quite easy to do in just a few steps, but I do not want to get long-winded here. You can find an entire post I have composed about this very topic. Click here to check it out.

Frankie-Caruso

Frankie’s Take:

I too was initially stunned to learn that I could mislead people with fake locations on WhatsApp. Be careful how you use it and choose locations that you can remember when your significant other asks you about it later!

So, If you have followed this guide and set WhatsApp with these suggested settings, you can minimize your chances of getting caught.

Let’s recap – here are the 10 tips that you should take advantage of:

  1. Save the lover’s contact info under a fake name.
  2. Hide all message previews for WhatsApp conversations.
  3. Mute the sound alerts for the lover’s chat.
  4. Hide ‘Last Seen’ information on WhatsApp
  5. Delete All Messages You Exchange With Your Affair
  6. Disable Automatic Media Saving Function
  7. Clean Your Data Traffic from WhatsApp Storage
  8. Erase all Records of Calls and Video Calls.
  9. Logout of WhatsApp Web Every Time
  10. Take Advantage of Fake Locations

I would like to provide even more information to help you better secure your affair.

Are WhatsApp Messages Safe?

Are the messages and conversations of your WhatsApp account safe?

Answer: Secure – but not overly secure.

As an instant messaging service, WhatsApp protects all of your conversations via messages, phone calls, or video calls by using end-to-end encryption. But what does that mean?

This security prevents the interception of your chats taking place between WhatsApp users. Essentially, no one (not even WhatsApp itself) can interfere, intercept, or record communications transferred in the service.

To put this plainly, only the people involved in the literal conversation have any idea a chat exists or is actively taking place.

Despite these preventative measures, spy apps exist that can circumvent these safeguards and access the conversations anyway.

I am not going to use this space to give you all of those details, but if you are actually interested in learning more, you should check out my article how to spy on WhatsApp messages.

Frankie-Caruso

Frankie’s Take:

WhatsApp is a safe chat app, but it is not without shortcomings. A jealous partner is capable of anything. A simple Google search can educate you (or your suspicious partner) about the spy apps that exist.

Should You Use an Alternative App?

If you have a committed relationship with your lover, or at the very least are close enough, you can always request to use a different app than the popular WhatsApp. There are many options that are great for secret conversations. I personally recommend Telegram – it has self-destructing messages that delete within seconds of reading them.

If you are not a fan of Telegram, I have written an article divulging the best apps used by chronic cheaters.

There are two advantages to choosing a separate app:

  1. A second app allows you to freely and confidently use WhatsApp for whatever you want.
  2. You can make the new application icon disappear from your homepage – I have an article explaining how to do this.

Set Phone Limitations

I know you are dying to spend hours on end texting your lover and chatting with them, but you really should take a beat and not overdo things.

You should always set boundaries for yourself. I would suggest avoiding texting in the evening. Ease the need by opting for some chamomile tea, a cold shower, or even a shot of schnapps.

Conclusions

Using this article, you have seen many things to put into practice to avoid getting caught if you use WhatsApp to chat with your lover.

These might seem small and insignificant on their own, but you should always remember the adage, “The devil is in the details”.

I would advise you to consider alternative apps to use besides WhatsApp. While WhatsApp and Messenger are two of the most popular instant messaging platforms on the planet, it is not at all the safest if you have things that you need to keep hidden.

Instead, you should take a minute to look at the 13 most popular apps used by cheaters.

With that said, I wish you good luck and good fortunes navigating the path ahead. If you have questions or doubts, you can reach me through the comment box below. I will be looking for your response.

A hug,

Frankie Caruso
